Passive Fire Rating: Acrylic Sealants
Passive Fire Rating exists to provide a building or structure with comprehensive fire resistance through the control of flame and smoke spread and prolonged structural integrity. Sealants play an important role in a comprehensive passive fire rating solution and M701 from Nullifire is no exception.
Developed to provide up to 5 hours continuous fire resistance, Nullifire M701 is a one-part acrylic joint sealant. Typically used around movement joints, this acrylic sealant can provide up to 20% movement on slab edges or around service penetrations. However. M701 offers a range of other key benefits including:
- Resistance to mould, fungus and vermin attack
- Suitability for gaps up to 50mm wide
- Low shirnkage
- No insulative backing material required for fire performance
- Reduces air leakage
- Can be applied to service penetrations to provide robust fire resistance
- Width to depth ration of 2:1
- Maintains substrate acoustic ratings
- Can be smoothed easily and has excellent tool ability
- Can be overpainted with water based or oil based top seals allowing aesthetic variables to be met easily

- Nullifire M701 is a versatile acrylic sealant which can be used in a variety of situations including:
- Expansion joints in compartment walls and floors
- Sealing in and around lightweight flexible partitions
- Decorative joints
- Between timber and steel doors and between windows and the substrate
- Sealing around service penetrations, steel pipes, steel ducts, ducting trays and cables and cable trays
- In conjunction with Nullifire B747 Coated Boards (large penetrations)
- Masonry to masonry
- Steel to steel
- Masonry to steel
