Pharmalab Clean Room Facilities - Epoxy Floor

Pharmalab, an Australian Manufacturer of parmceuticals for the hospital market recently required installation of a seamless solution in their clean room facility which included the floors and wall coatings.

The project which was at Pharmalab's French's Forest was managed by builders Hooker Cockram who appointed Remedial Building Services to carry out the work.

Remedial Building Services attended the site and recommended the installation of an epoxy flooring solution. As the clean room had new concrete floors, the floors and stairs to the clean room were ground back before a Primer and 2-3mm of self levelling epoxy were applied on the stairs and floors as well as around all existing plant and equipment. Remedial then returned to site to seal the floor with 1 coat of epoxy sealer.

In order to achieve the true seamless finish which was required of the facility, the walls and ceiling were patched with acrylic patching compound and 3 coats of water based epoxy.

The final result was an epoxy flooring solution which met all the requirements of a pharmaceutical clean floor and which will last well into the future.
