Pax Australia - Epoxy Floor Upgrade
In Late April of 2010, Pax Australia undertook maintenance works to their operations facility located in Ingleburn. Amongst the identified scope of works was an upgrade to the industrial floor surface. The total area of the facility covered some 1100 square metres and over time, and due to high foot and machinery traffic the existing substrate needed treatment and a new surface.
The requirements of the job called for a concrete resurfacing solution. Post analysis of the existing surface, instead of providing a resurfacing option, we recommended the scabbling of the existing surface and the patching of the surface and all cracks with Hychem's Hyflex HS. It was apparent at this stage that over approximately 240m2 of the flooring surface required more preparation to fix existing damage, so Hychem E300 SL was applied. All joints were also resealed and replaced as required at this juncture.
The next day Remedial staff returned and electrically sanded the entire surface to prepare it for the final coat - Hychem SF12. The client had requested a pewter colour and this was applied in accordance with their wishes.
Overall, Pax Australia incurred no downtime, as Remedial Building Services began work at midnight on the Friday of the ANZAC Day holiday long weekend with all work completed in entirety by 11pm on Monday night, in time for work to recommence on the Tuesday.
