Narrabeen Sands - Commercial Kitchen Floor

The brand new Narrabeen Sands Hotel, recently opened in Sydney's beachside suburb of Narrabeen, needed the correct floors to be laid in the bars, kitchen, freezer room and beer storage areas.

The Builders, "Lifetime Developments" contacted us to perform the task as they had been very happy with the work Remedial had done for them on other properties in Queensland.

Vital to winning the contract was our ability to supply a rapid curing system that would suit a commercial kitchen floor and one which could be applied within their tight building schedule. We recommended a Methyl Methacrylate Acetate flooring solution.

After the new concrete was allowed to cure for 28 days we ground the surface using vacuum shrouded diamond head grinders allowing us a surface ready for the application of the Sika Pronto Methyl Methacrylate System. From our analysis of the demands that would be placed on the floor, we applied a 5-6mm thick covering and then sealed it with 2 seal coats. This was used on the kitchens, bars, keg room, coolrooms and laundry, a total of area of 137m2.

At the back of the house 34m2 of 2 coats of high build epoxy were applied by roller using the same methods.

The MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) System will provide the Narrabeen Sands Hotel with seamless, easy to clean, hard wearing floors that will last long into the future.

We'll drink to that.
