Manly Beach - Structural Repair and Facade Refurbishment
One of the core strengths we have developed as a company is in structural repair. The attitude we take towards remedial works is that repairing what can be seen is only treating the tip of the iceberg. We completely understand that removing the surface problem is part of the solution but that uncovering the cause is essential if the work is to last.
We have extensive experience in this area. One such project was on an apartment tower located on the headland at Sydney's beachside suburb, Manly. Exposure to the ravages of the salty sea air had caused the windows and steel lintels to corrode and hence need replacing. Furthermore, the existing waterproof membrane located on the flat roof of the building also needed replacing as its integrity was beginning to fail.
The owners corporation had decided that there would be added benefit in not only structural repair, specifically, replacing the windows and the lintels of the building, but also in completely changing the look of the building.
Over a period of a year, we worked closely with the consulting engineers to completely address all structural issues, replacing everything from flashings to windows to lintels.
We were also appointed to install new balcony doors and completely render the building. The overall result was that the whole apartment tower had complete structural integrity reinstated as well as a fresh aesthetic appeal.
