Casella Winery - Epoxy Floor Surfacing
For well over a century, Australian wine has been winning awards all over the world. This has made Australian wines one of our largest exports. Today, one brand - Casella - sells more wine overseas than any other manufacturer. With over 2million glasses of their iconic Yellow Tail wine consumed every day, Casella Wines have need of some serious production facilities.
In 2011 Casella Wines looked to upgrade facilities at their Griffith based plant to cater for increased wine production and increased beer brewing production. Part of the refurbishment required the laying of a new epoxy floor to 4513 metres2 which would take the rigours of excessive foot and mechanical traffic and withstand the deleterious effects of sugar, alcohol, cleaning chemicals and other substances.
Remedial Building Services recommended the application of 6mm of Megapoxy 132 which was laid over acid etched new concrete (allowing for better adhesion) with coving up the walls of 100mm. We then removed all existing joint membranes and replaced them with a new flexible polyurethane sealant.
To finish the surface off and achieve the required aesthetic finish, our team applied two coats of Jouton Jotacote 605; a two part epoxy paint to achieve a brilliant scarlet colour.
