Casella Winery - Epoxy Floor Surfacing

For well over a century, Australian wine has been winning awards all over the world. This has made Australian wines one of our largest exports. Today, one brand - Casella - sells more wine overseas than any other manufacturer. With over 2million glasses of their iconic Yellow Tail wine consumed every day, Casella Wines have need of some serious production facilities.

In 2011 Casella Wines looked to upgrade facilities at their Griffith based plant to cater for increased wine production and increased beer brewing production. Part of the refurbishment required the laying of a new epoxy floor to 4513 metres2 which would take the rigours of excessive foot and mechanical traffic and withstand the deleterious effects of sugar, alcohol, cleaning chemicals and other substances.

Remedial Building Services recommended the application of 6mm of a resin rich epoxy mortar which was laid over suitably prepared new concrete, with coving up the walls and floor juntions of 100mm. To complete the floor and achieve the required aesthetic finish our team then applied two coats of a high build, two-part epoxy paint to achieve a brilliant scarlet colour.
